Lady Gaga's 'Applause' Hits No. 1 on Dance Chart

Lady Gaga's 'Applause' Hits No. 1 on Dance Chart

The lead single from Gaga's "ARTPOP" lands at the top spot.

Lady Gaga zooms from No. 16-1 on Dance/Electronic Songs with “Applause,” riding enormous gains all around.
Her 15-spot leap is the most in the eight month history of the Dance/Electronic Songs chart, beating the 12-1 jump of Baauer¹s “Harlem Shake.” Only “Shake” and “Gentleman” by PSY reached No. 1 in two weeks or less.
The song takes home the Greatest Gainer/Airplay award and enters at No. 4 on Dance Streaming Songs, collecting 79% of its 2.9 million streams from YouTube. Sales of 218,000 digital downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan, are enough to spur a No. 1 debut on Dance/Electronic Digital Songs, her fourth No. 1 and ninth top 10 on that tally.
Two remixes enter Dance/Electronic Songs: “Motherquake,” a Diplo remix of the DJ Fresh song “Earthquake” featuring Dominique Young Unique’s vocals, debuts at No. 38.  Only available for download to those who purchase the entire “Kick Ass 2” film soundtrack, its chart points stem entirely from YouTube streams. A new version of Barker & Yelawolf’s “Push ‘Em, remixed by Steve Aoki & Travis Barker, is new at No. 41 (6,000 units).  Sales of the original version do not count towards this remix.
Over on Dance/Electronic Albums, BT captures his fifth top 10 with “A Song Across Wires.” His No. 5 bow carries his best sales week (2,000 units) since February, 2010.
Finally, Avicii’s red-hot momentum continues as “Wake Me Up!” soars 6-1 on Dance Club Songs, his fourth No. 1.  Avicii is also the Greatest Gainer/Digital at No. 3 on Dance/Electronic Digital Songs (138,000 units, up 22%), while improving 15-11 on the Hot 100.

Lady Gaga promises to go crazy

Lady Gaga promises to go crazy

Los Angeles - Lady Gaga's MTV Video Music Awards performance will be her craziest yet.
The singer insists she's definitely not "scaling it back" when it comes to her stage show and outfit for the ceremony in New York this Sunday, where she will give her first live rendition of her new single Applause from her album ARTPOP.
Speaking to radio host Scott Mills on UK station BBC Radio 1, Gaga teased: "We're definitely not scaling it back. It's actually much bigger performance than anything we've ever done and it's much more physically challenging.
''I'm always going to be as interested in the avant-garde and the grotesque. And I'm always going to be bending pop music in a different way.
"But this time, I'm able to take off my make-up now and I'm able to work in different kinds of ways and that was really what I wanted to do. I wanted to put myself in an uncomfortable position."
How weird will Gaga go?
Fans are busy speculating what bizarre get-up Gaga will wear on stage this time, with the clamshell bikini from the Applause music video being a hot favourite.
The pop superstar is famed for her outrageous costumes and staging choices, which have memorably included a raw meat dress, rolling on stage in a wheelchair and appearing as a floating head hologram.
In spite of her crazy performances, Gaga, 27, insists she craves downtime with her family to relax on the sofa and scoff their homemade Italian food because it keeps her grounded.
Gaga said: "The other night I laid on the couch with my mom and dad and ate spaghetti. So that's pretty normal. I love my parents and they give me inspiration as well. I need that time to feel normal because it makes me appreciate it even more when I hit the stage and there 5,000 people singing every word.
"It gives me perspective and it keeps me strong. We watch a lot of crime documentaries, that's what my dad and I like to watch!"

Lady Gaga - Lady Gaga undefeatable

Lady Gaga won't let computer hackers who leaked her comeback single, 'Applause', defeat her.

Lady Gaga New Sexy Artpop
Lady Gaga won't let computer hackers defeat her.
The superstar's comeback single 'Applause' was leaked online before its scheduled release date and Gaga stands by the threat she made on Twitter when she heard the news.
She wrote at the time: ''Wanna grab some shovels and f**k up some hackers?''
Asked whether she still wants to attack thecomputer geeks who leaked the track, Gaga replied: ''Yes, I did mean that Tweet. I just think, especially for the music industry right now, it's important that we all stick together, that we support one another and each other's records.
''Hackers leaking songs before they're released is detrimental to our marketing plan, so I thought it would be a funny way to tell everyone that we're OK over here in the Haus of Gaga. We got our team together very quickly to be ready for the release.''
The singer also explained why she decided to call her new album 'ARTPOP', claiming her creative team are so obsessed with art, they want to create their own cultural movement.
In an interview with French radio station NRJ Gaga said: ''I wanted to create an album that was a reverse experience from pop art, so the pop art movement was defined by putting pop culture on a canvas, putting pop culture into art, and the art pop movement is putting art into pop culture.
''My creative process is that I sit with the Haus of Gaga after my shows every night, and we sit andmake music and design clothes and design the stage performances. We're obsessed with music and art we let it run our lives, and that's what art pop really sounds like.''

Lady Gaga turns up to VMAs rehersals in just her bra, standard

Lady Gaga turned up to VMA rehearsals in her bra today, stopping off on the way in to have a quick grind with a fan:

Standard behavior for Lady Gaga really, then.

The 27-year-old was out perfecting her routine ahead of the big show.

The singer also appears to be wearing some sort of swimming hat but this is the woman who once dressed up as a condom so we suppose this is pretty low key.

Lady Gaga will perform at the awards tomorrow night and we reckon it is set to be a corker of a show.

This is not the first time Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta has gone out in her bra, she actually did the exact same thing a few weeks ago on her way to the Abbey club in LA.

In fact, we reckon it would look a bit weird if she remembered her t-shirt.

However, we say it’s nice to see her in any clothes at all after last week when she starred in an arty funfarising video for the Marina Abramovic Institute totally starkers.

Yep, we were pretty shocked when Lady Gaga revealed literally everything in the name of art.

Unsurprisingly, Lady Gaga has a new single called Applause of the album ARTPOP which is out now.

Lady Gaga - Applause Lyrics

Lady Gaga Single Cover Applause

I stand here waiting for you to bang the gong to crash the critic saying
Is it right or is it wrong?
If only Fame had an IV
Baby could I bare being away from you
I found the vein, put it in here

I live for the Applause, Applause, Applause
I live for the Applause-plause
Live for the Applause-plause
Live for the way that you cheer and scream for me
The applause, applause, applause

Give me the thing that I love
(turn the lights on)
Put your hands up, make em touch
(make it real loud)
Give me the thing that I love
(turn the lights on)
Put your hands up, make em touch
(make it real loud)

A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E

Make it real loud
Put your hands up, make em touch, touch
A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E
Make it real loud
Put your hands up, make em touch, touch

I've overheard your theory
Nostalgia's for geeks
I guess sir, if you say so
Some of us just like to read

One second i'm a kunst
Then suddenly the kunst is me
Pop culture was in Art now ART's in POP culture, in me!

I live for the Applause, Applause, Applause
I live for the Applause-plause
Live for the Applause-plause
Live for the way that you cheer and scream for me
The applause, applause, applause

Give me the thing that I love
(turn the lights on)
Put your hands up, make em touch
(make it real loud)

Make it real loud
Put your hands up, make em touch, touch

Touch touch
Touch touch now

Lady Gaga: 'Applause inspired by fan support'

Lady Gaga Applause
Lady Gaga has revealed that her new single 'Applause' was inspired by fan support while she was struggling at the end of her 'Born This Way Ball' tour. The singer cancelled several of the tour's dates in February to have an operation to fix a hip injury.

Gaga has now revealed to On Air with Ryan Seacrest that the inspiration for her new single 'Applause' came from three months of performing while in severe pain.

"When I was finishing the tour I really was physically breaking, and I was in a lot of pain," she recalled. "Any performer that does these world tours will tell you that your body goes through a tremendous amount of stress and I just didn't know what was wrong because I'm kind of a hardcore chick and I have a very strong threshold for pain."

She continued: "I kept slapping myself, saying, 'Come on, get it together, what's going on with you?' I was really going kind of crazy, thinking, 'Your moves don't feel the same and it doesn't feel the same when you stand centre stage', and everything just started to dwindle inside.

"And the only thing that kept me going was the applause of the fans and their screaming and their faces every night looking up and me, saying, 'Gaga, we love you no matter what' - it really kept me going."

Gaga's new single 'Applause' will feature on her upcoming studio album ARTPOP.

She will perform the new track on the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, airing from Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center on Sunday, August 25 from 9pm ET.
