Lady Gaga and the Germanotta family are in mourning for the 'Bad Romance' singer's beloved godfather.
Gaga posted a tweet which paid tribute to the man who played a very special part in her life, along with an adorable picture of the two together:
“My godfather died yesterday, sweet man I love him. That’s me, just a lil baby in his arms. Buono note.”

The snap definitely shows just how much Lady Gaga meant to her godfather, even before she shot to fame as Mother Monster - just look at the proud grin on his face.
It's a well known fact that godparents have a much larger role in traditional Italian families, often sharing a bond with their little godchild far greater than that of blood relatives - after all, they were chosen to be honoured with the relationship.
Our thoughts are with Lady Gaga at this difficult time.
