Lady Gaga Rules Billboard.com's Readers Poll 2013

Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande also scored major wins, but Gaga was the Billboard.com readers' MVP.

Put your hands up, make 'em touch: Lady Gaga is the ruler of Billboard.com's 2013 Readers' Poll, which allowed pop music fans far and wide to vote for their favorite albums, songs, videos and performances of the past year. Gaga, who returned in late 2013 with her "ARTPOP" opus, emerged in a superstar-laden field and claimed the poll's top prize: the 2013 MVP.

However, the MVP award was just the start for Gaga. "ARTPOP" was voted the readers' favorite album to top the Billboard 200 chart in 2013, while the official clip for "Applause" ran away with the Favorite Music Video category. Gaga's two-song stop on "Saturday Night Live" last month was voted the Favorite TV Performance of the year, and the singer blew away the competition in the Fashion category. And although "Lady Gaga Cancels Tour Dates Due To Injury" won the Biggest Disappointment award, that win just demonstrates how eager fans remain to see Gaga live -- her next tour was voted the most anticipated event of 2014.

2013 was a huge year for Gaga in the Readers' Poll, but Miley Cyrus wasn't too far behind the "Do What U Want" singer. "Wrecking Ball," Cyrus' first No. 1 single on the Hot 100 chart, was voted the best Hot 100 chart-topper of the year, and Cyrus' "Bangerz" career revival was voted the Comeback of the Year. Cyrus' twerk-happy VMAs performance was voted the Most Shocking Moment in music of 2013, and the "Wrecking Ball" online parodies won the vote for the Best Viral moment of the year.
Some other winners of note: just like in our mid-year poll, Ariana Grande ran away with the Newcomer of the Year vote, overcoming fellow newbies Imagine Dragons and Lorde in the vote. Taylor Swift's international Red run was voted the Favorite Tour of the year, while Lollapalooza and "The X Factor" won for the year's best festival and musical TV show, respectively. And although we had to remove Beyonce from one of our categories -- "Beyonce Does Not Release An Album in 2013" certainly still can't be an option in the Biggest Disappointment vote! -- Queen Bey gave the Festival Performance of the year at Made In America, while she and Jay Z were voted the Hottest Couple of 2013.
Check out the full results below -- including the percentage of the votes that each candidate received:

Lady Gaga Goes Naked Again: This Time Covering Her Body With Grass For 'Do What U Want' Single Cover Art [PHOTO]

Move over meat dress, Lady Gaga’s covering herself up in a new way now. Just because it’s not made of meat, doesn’t mean it’s any less jaw-dropping. For the cover art for her new single “Do What U Want”, Gaga decided to strip down to nothing, but cover herself up with some grass. That’s right, like the front of your lawn grass. The single is set to release of Oct. 21st and in it, she collaborates with mega-star R. Kelly. Gaga tweeted about the song: “I REPEAT R KELLY IS ON ARTPOP. AND HE SOUNDS INCREDIBLE.”

ArtPop is Lady Gaga’s thirds studio album set to release on November 8th. The first single of the record, “Applause” has already been a huge success toping the charts as well as providing the theme music for several commercials, including car company Kia’s new ad. Lady Gaga is no stranger to shocking outfits and barely there stage costumes.
Most notably, Gaga busted out of a giant egg on the Grammys stage during The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards held at Staples Center on February 13, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. From there, she doned the infamous meat dress, her own version of a male doppleganger and even posed as an erotic nun during her Monster Ball Tour.
Lady Gaga recently made her return to the pop scene after having hip surgery that kept her of the stage for quit some time. Now, Mother Monster is back and ready for action. Gaga has recenty taken to Twitter for aQ&A with her mosters answering any questions they may have about her, the new album, and what we can expect to see from her in the future. As amazing as the green grass looks on Lady Gaga, we can certainly expect to see much more from the pop megastar.

Lady GaGa producer Zedd: 'ARTPOP is very experimental'

Lady GaGa producer Zedd has spoken about the "experimental approach" they have taken recording the singer's new album ARTPOP.

The German DJ said he is "really, really excited" for people to hear the outcome of the unusual recording process.

Lady GaGa producer Zedd: 'ARTPOP is very experimental'
He told Rolling Stone: "I just really can't imagine they would not like it, to just say it straight up. I think the stuff we've made is pretty f**king cool.

"It's amazing, because does not have to please anyone, and she is who she is. Her first idea of how we should approach the music was just to be completely open - nothing is too crazy.

He added that they have recorded music that isn't necessarily radio friendly.

"Whatever is dope is dope. We do whatever we want, and we don't have to make a song that's three minutes and 30 seconds just to fit the radio," he added.

On the album's sound, he explained: "We didn't try to make an EDM album - but, at the same time, we didn't try not to make an EDM album. I've done a lot of stuff that's really outside of what I usually do.

"There was one song that started from her just giving me, like, ten words to describe an emotion, and then I had to make this into music. It's been a very experimental way of approaching music."

Last month, it was reported that GaGa had begun preparing outfits for the new campaign.

ARTPOP will serve as the follow-up to 2011's Born This Way and is expected to be released later this year.

Lady Gaga's new album is 'pretty fucking cool', says producer

Lady Gaga's new album is 'pretty fucking cool', says producer

Lady Gaga's forthcoming new album 'ARTPOP' will be "pretty fucking cool", according to her producer Zedd.
The German DJ has been working with the singer on her new LP and, in an interview with Rolling Stone, said they had embraced an "experimental approach" to making music together.

"I'm really, really excited for people to hear what we came up with," he said. "I just really can't imagine they would not like it, to just say it straight up. I think the stuff we've made is pretty fucking cool.
"It's amazing, because does not have to please anyone, and she is who she is," he added. "Her first idea of how we should approach the music was just to be completely open – nothing is too crazy. Whatever is dope is dope. We do whatever we want, and we don't have to make a song that's three minutes and 30 seconds just to fit the radio."

Discussing how the album would sound, meanwhile, the producer revealed: "We didn't try to make an EDM album – but, at the same time, we didn't try not to make an EDM album. I've done a lot of stuff that's really outside of what I usually do. There was one song that started from her just giving me, like, 10 words to describe an emotion, and then I had to make this into music. It's been a very experimental way of approaching music."

Gaga is expected to release 'ARTPOP' later this year. Meanwhile, crooner Tony Bennett revealed that he and the singer will be recording a jazz album together this month, while Gaga reportedly turned down $1 million (£660,000) to sing at last year's Republican National Convention in the United States.

Lady Gaga Named Godmother To Elton John's Second Son Elijah

John and his partner David Furnish chose the Mother Monster after she proved to be a 'great' godmother to their first son, Zachary.

Lady Gaga Named Godmother To Elton John's Second Son Elijah

Lady Gaga might be keeping a low profile recovering from hip surgery, but she's making a little time for her friends. Longtime pal Elton John has confirmed that the singer is the (god)mother monster to his second son, Elijah, with partner David Furnish.

"She's a great role model. She's young. She's been a great godmother to Zachary," the legendary singer told "Extra," according to Gossip Cop, about her role as godmother to Elijah as well as his first son. "We're all bonkers in this business, but we're human beings at the same time."

Since Elijah's birth in January, Gaga has been taking her role rather seriously. John recalled a visit she paid them in Las Vegas after his birth, where John has a show at Caesars Palace, "The Million Dollar Piano." He shared, "She was already dressed to go to the show, and she was sitting there and she bathed him, and she was dressed like Audrey Hepburn."

In addition to collaborating on family matters, Gaga teased back in November 2011 that she intended to work with John on her followup to Born This Way. "My next duet, I believe, will be with Elton," she said. "I'm already working on my next album, and I played him a song that I wrote and he really loved it. I don't want to give anything [else] away!" (They previously appeared together on the "Gnomeo and Juliet" soundtrack song "Hello Hello.")

Gaga was sidelined back in February, having to cancel the remainder of her Born This Way tour dates in the U.S. to have hip surgery. Since then, aside from making some appearances on her golden wheelchair, Gaga has remained mostly out of the limelight.
Back in March, her manager, Vincent Herbert, revealed that she's "doing unbelievable" and is "ready to get back to work" on her upcoming album, ARTPOP.

DJ Zedd 'made a lot of songs' for Lady Gaga album Artpop

Producer and DJ Zedd has said he and Lady Gaga have made "a lot of songs" for the singer's upcoming album, Artpop.

The 23-year-old has been collaborating with the Grammy-award winner on her third release, due out this year.

However, he remained tight-lipped on which tracks would make it onto her final cut.

"She will decide how many will be on her album and I don't know how many that will be," he said.
Zedd, who's real name is Anton Zaslavski, also clarified quotes which suggested he thought Lady Gaga was a long way off finishing Artpop.

He said: "There's been an interview where someone basically took a part of what I said and turned it into what everyone would love to hear - which was not true."
In-demand

On his collaborations with Lady Gaga, Zedd explained: "[We] just started collecting ideas. I didn't know which song would be for her.

"If she didn't like a song I'd probably use it for myself or maybe she'd sing it for me. We just made music.

"I feel it sounds right in the middle between Zedd and Lady Gaga."

Zedd, like musicians such as Calvin Harris and Skrillex, is one of the current crop of in-demand young producers.

His debut album, released in 2012, featured collaborations with Ellie Goulding and Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic.

He's now preparing for the release of his new single, Clarity, featuring British singer Foxes.
Speaking about the collaboration, Foxes, aka Louisa Rose Allen, said she felt "honoured" to be singing on it.
