Lady Gaga Rules Billboard.com's Readers Poll 2013

Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande also scored major wins, but Gaga was the Billboard.com readers' MVP.

Put your hands up, make 'em touch: Lady Gaga is the ruler of Billboard.com's 2013 Readers' Poll, which allowed pop music fans far and wide to vote for their favorite albums, songs, videos and performances of the past year. Gaga, who returned in late 2013 with her "ARTPOP" opus, emerged in a superstar-laden field and claimed the poll's top prize: the 2013 MVP.

However, the MVP award was just the start for Gaga. "ARTPOP" was voted the readers' favorite album to top the Billboard 200 chart in 2013, while the official clip for "Applause" ran away with the Favorite Music Video category. Gaga's two-song stop on "Saturday Night Live" last month was voted the Favorite TV Performance of the year, and the singer blew away the competition in the Fashion category. And although "Lady Gaga Cancels Tour Dates Due To Injury" won the Biggest Disappointment award, that win just demonstrates how eager fans remain to see Gaga live -- her next tour was voted the most anticipated event of 2014.

2013 was a huge year for Gaga in the Readers' Poll, but Miley Cyrus wasn't too far behind the "Do What U Want" singer. "Wrecking Ball," Cyrus' first No. 1 single on the Hot 100 chart, was voted the best Hot 100 chart-topper of the year, and Cyrus' "Bangerz" career revival was voted the Comeback of the Year. Cyrus' twerk-happy VMAs performance was voted the Most Shocking Moment in music of 2013, and the "Wrecking Ball" online parodies won the vote for the Best Viral moment of the year.
Some other winners of note: just like in our mid-year poll, Ariana Grande ran away with the Newcomer of the Year vote, overcoming fellow newbies Imagine Dragons and Lorde in the vote. Taylor Swift's international Red run was voted the Favorite Tour of the year, while Lollapalooza and "The X Factor" won for the year's best festival and musical TV show, respectively. And although we had to remove Beyonce from one of our categories -- "Beyonce Does Not Release An Album in 2013" certainly still can't be an option in the Biggest Disappointment vote! -- Queen Bey gave the Festival Performance of the year at Made In America, while she and Jay Z were voted the Hottest Couple of 2013.
Check out the full results below -- including the percentage of the votes that each candidate received:

Taylor Swift We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together Lyrics And Official Video

I remember when we broke up the first time
Saying this is it, I've had enough, 'cause like
We haven't seen each other in a month
When you, said you, needed space, what?
Then you come around again and say
Baby, I miss you and I swear I'm gonna change
Trust me, remember how that lasted for a day
I say, I hate you, we break up, you call me, I love you

Oooh we called it off again last night
But Oooh, this time I'm telling you, I'm telling you
We are never ever ever getting back together
We are never ever ever getting back together
You go talk to your friends talk
To my friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

Like ever...

I'm really gonna miss you picking fights
And me, falling for a screaming that I'm right
And you, will hide away and find your piece of mind with some indie record that's much cooler than mine

Oooh you called me up again tonight
But Oooh, this time I'm telling you, I'm telling you
We are never ever ever getting back together
We are never ever ever getting back together
You go talk to your friends talk
To my friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

I used to think, that we, were forever ever ever
And I used to say never say never
Huh, he calls me up and he's like, I still love you
And i'm like, i'm just, I mean this is exhausting, you know
We are never getting back together, like ever

We are never ever ever getting back together
We are never ever ever getting back together
You go talk to your friends talk
To my friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

We, oooh, oooh, not back together, we
Oh, getting back together

You go talk to your friends talk
And my friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

VIDEO: Taylor Swift’s chart-topper born of a grieving mother’s words

By now you may have heard Taylor Swift’s heart-rending song Ronan, about the too-short life of a little boy. Swift gave it an emotional performance on the Stand Up to Cancer telethon Sept. 7, and it has been topping the charts ever since.
The real boy behind the song is Ronan Thompson, an impish three-year-old from Phoenix with coppery blond hair and mesmerizing big blue eyes. In 2010, a few months after his third birthday, Ronan was given a diagnosis of neuroblastoma, an often deadly childhood cancer. He died May 9, 2011, three days before he was to turn four.
Swift learned about Ronan from a blog that his mother, Maya Thompson, began shortly after the diagnosis to keep family and friends informed. Thompson called the blog Rockstar Ronan, but she did not mince words about his illness, and her heartbreak was painfully evident in every update.
“A few weeks into it, I remember writing that I had a feeling this blog was going to get dark and ugly and scary, because it’s a horrific thing to go through,” she said in an interview. “I wasn’t willing to sugarcoat any of this. I think a big part of why nothing gets done with childhood cancer is that everybody wants to wrap it in a cute little bow with cute little bald kids. But it’s so sad. The statistics are so awful.”
Thompson wrote about that, too. Cancer is the second leading cause of death of children under 15 — after accidents — yet pediatric cancer receives only 3 to 4 per cent of cancer research funds in the U.S. Although pediatric cancer is considered rare, an estimated 12,060 new cases are expected this year among children 14 and younger in the U.S. The survival rate for pediatric cancer is about 80 per cent.
About 650 to 700 children a year are found to have neuroblastoma, which is a solid-tumour cancer that originates in the adrenal gland, neck, chest, abdomen or pelvis. It’s the most common cancer in infants and accounts for about 15 per cent of all childhood cancer deaths.
Countering these grim statistics were the pictures of Ronan, playing on the beach with his brothers, Liam and Quinn, laughing with his parents and gazing into the camera with his shocking blue eyes.
Ronan underwent rounds of chemotherapy, surgery and radiation and traveled to hospitals around the U.S. as his parents searched for a doctor who could save him. Soon, strangers were following his story — including Swift. The blog has now been viewed by more than 6 million people.
Ronan spent his last days in a pediatric hospice in Phoenix with his parents and brothers. After he died, his mother continued to write tearful posts on her blog, which had turned into an open letter to her son. She wrote about a new dislike for flowers, because of what they had come to represent.
She wrote about her last words to Ronan: “Let’s get out of here.” She reminisced about his favourite holiday, Halloween, and how he’d run down the hall and play with toy cars on the floor.
In November, Thompson received a call from a publicist for Swift, inviting her to meet the singer at a concert in Phoenix.
“She told me how she had been reading our blog for over a year, and her parents had been reading it and they were all devastated and touched by it,” Thompson said. “I remember crying and she was crying.”
Just a week before the cancer telethon, Thompson got a call from Swift, who said she had written a song about Ronan and wanted to give Thompson a writing credit, since it was based on her blog. Proceeds would go to cancer charities, and she wanted to show Ronan’s photo behind her as she sang.
Thompson first heard the song during the telecast, which she watched with her husband, Woody, her sons and friends.
“It was hard for me to focus on the words coming out of her mouth, I was so impacted by the emotion on her face,” she said of Swift. “I could see her sadness. Everybody was crying and saying it was the most beautiful thing they’ve ever heard.”
Flowers pile up in the worst way
No one knows what to say
About a beautiful boy who died
And it’s about to be Halloween
You could be anything
You wanted if you were still here
I remember the last day
When I kissed your face
I whispered in your ear
Come on baby with me
We’re gonna fly away from here
She listened to it again and was surprised to hear so many of her own words.
“I was very touched that she knew such important little intimate details about his life and death and our story,” Thompson said.
The song quickly moved to No. 1 on the iTunes chart; it has been hovering in and out of the top 10 and has been downloaded more than 327,000 times. Swift is donating all of her royalties to cancer charities, while Thompson’s share will go to the Ronan Thompson Foundation. She plans to use the money to help establish a neuroblastoma research and treatment center.
“I want to create a community for these families and kids who are going through this,” she said. “I made Ronan a promise that I would continue to fight for him, even though he’s not here.”

An all-Taylor Swift edition of Weekly Chart Notes, in honor of her first Hot 100 topper.

In her new single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," Taylor Swift mocks her ex for mocking her by listening to "some indie record that's much cooler than mine." (Or, is it "Mine," her No. 3 Billboard Hot 100 hit from 2010?)

With "Never" rocketing 72-1 to become her first Hot 100 leader, Swift's coolness doesn't seem to be in question.

As previously reported, the song arrives with 623,000 downloads sold, the best weekly sum for a woman in Nielsen SoundScan history. "Never," also the first Hot 100 No. 1 for the Big Machine Records label, previews Swift's fourth studio album, "Red," due Oct. 22.

"#1 on Billboard's Hot 100!!?! This has been the most amazing week. (Jumping up and down)," Swift beamed via Twitter upon learning of her achievement.

In honor of her landmark week, let's run through an all-Taylor Swift edition of Weekly Chart Notes, as the song's coronation rewrites multiple chapters of Hot 100 history.

46 = 1: Upon her vault to the Hot 100 summit for the first time, Swift relinquishes the mantle as the female artist with the most charted titles without a No. 1. "Never" marks her 46th Hot 100 entry. She'd previously charted as high as No. 2 with "You Belong With Me" (2009) and "Today Was a Fairytale" (2010).

With Swift a Hot 100 penthouse resident at last, sorry, Nicki Minaj: with 41 Hot 100 hits and no No. 1s (so far, at least), you now own the distinction among women for most Hot 100 visits without reigning. (Your "Pound the Alarm," however, continues to makes a play for the summit, charging 29-22 in its fourth week.)

Among all artists, the act with the most Hot 100 visits has yet to top the tally: the "Glee" cast has made 203 appearances, rising as high as No. 4 with "Don't Stop Believin' " in 2009. James Brown (91), Jackie Wilson (53) and Brook Benton (48) follow with the most Hot 100 entries but no No. 1s.

WAIT OFF HER SHOULDERS: Having required 46 appearances to crown the Hot 100, Swift tallied the most charted titles of any act that's notched at least one No. 1 before finally reaching the pinnacle.

She passes Dionne Warwick, who visited the Hot 100 39 times before leading at last on her 40th try with "Then Came You," with the Spinners, in 1974. (My girlfriend, Michelle, on Warwick: "Given her psychic skills, hopefully she didn't worry if she'd ever hit No. 1.")

Among other artists who took their time tallying their first Hot 100 No. 1s, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles needed 37 tries until "Tears of a Clown" reached No. 1 in 1970; Johnny Mathis needed 31 attempts until "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late," with Deniece Williams, in 1978); and, Marvin Gaye ("I Heard It Through the Grapevine," 1968) and Bob Seger ("Shakedown," 1987) each required 30.

Swift's wait for a Hot 100 No. 1 is largely a byproduct of the digital era, as she's been charting on the Hot 100 for only slightly more than six years (see the next item for exactly how long). Warwick, by comparison, waited close to 12 years before finally leading the list and Mathis and Seger each took almost 20 years from their first appearances until their first No. 1s.

What changed? The digital era has swelled major artists' chances of denting the Hot 100 more often, as such star acts as Swift routinely debut multiple entries upon the release of highly-anticipated albums, fueled by first-week a la carte download sales. All 14 songs on the standard edition of Swift's third studio album, "Speak Now," in fact, graced the Hot 100, with 10 debuting the week that the set bowed atop the Billboard 200 (Nov. 13, 2010).(Read on for more about Swift's lucky number, 13.)

While "Never" is Swift's 46th Hot 100 hit, it's just her 22nd single promoted to country and/or pop radio; the other 24 charted based on digital sales alone.

Taylor Swift New Hair Color 2012

I’ve told you before that 2012 seems to be the year of dramatic and unexpected makeovers, do you remember that?! For sure, some of you do remember while there are others who don’t remember or even know when I’ve said such a thing! Anyways, it doesn’t really matter as I’ve said it again! Today, I bring a big surprise for you all especially the fans and followers of the gorgeous singer and occasional actress Taylor Swift.

By the way, like usual, that surprise is related to her hair and nothing else. That’s made me to ask you; do you think it’s a new hair style, cut or color?! Hu, think! Smart me, you can figure out directly from the topic’s title that it’s definitely about a new hair color. So the reasonable question has to be which hair color do you think she has opted for?! I can guess that many of you are going to say; ‘Crazy you! Undoubtedly, she has opted for dying her long hair with any shade of the blonde color!’. I don’t want to ruin your hopes or dreams, but i have to tell you that this time she hasn’t opted for that color even it’s her most, most favorite one.
Just before I’m going to reveal what her new hair color is, I have to tell you to prepare yourself for being greatly shocked. Ok, don’t believe me, but remember that i told you! People, Taylor has dyed her shiny long hair locks brunette. Yup, brunette! Dramatic makeover, isn’t it?! Of course, it’s! None of us can deny that.

Despite that, she still has the same gorgeous, awesome and sexy look! You can say that different hair colors, but the same look. I know that you’ve many questions flowing in your minds as; how have you known that?, where have you seen her wearing a dark brunette hair?, how has it been styled? and others. Also, I’m sure that some of you may have another question which is; ‘Is it a wig?!’. Okay, starting with the last one, I guess that it’s not a wig at all. Maybe, I’m wrong and you’re right.

Concerning the first couple of questions, I have to tell you that she has revealed her new hair color during the photo session of the new Covergirl magazine cosmetics ads which all we know that she’s been the main star of. During that session, her brunette hair has been seen on the straight and soft curly styles which have been nothing but gorgeous, stunning, sexy and alluring like usual! I guess that by that way, I answered all of the questions that might come across your minds and now is your turn. Yup, my ladies, I’m going to leave you with few but sort of confusing questions and consider that I’m waiting for your answers. The first question is ‘Do you think that she’s going to make a U-turn and back to her trademark blonde hair?’.

The second one is ‘Do you expect that she’d opt for more drastic changes by cutting her hair or styling it in a brandy new way?!’. Just it!! I think that now is the time of saying goodbyes..
