A model presents a creation by Mugler at the spring/summer 2013 ready-to-wear collection |
Lady Gaga sent a musical message to the Paris fashion crowd on Wednesday night, giving a preview of her first rap song at the Mugler show by Nicola Formichetti, who is also her personal stylist.
Entitled "Cake", the track -- on which the diva's voice is barely recognisable -- has been doing the rounds on the Internet for the past 10 days, but the star had yet to acknowledge it as her own.
The song's highly offensive lyrics led Slate.com to write last week that it hoped Gaga -- if confirmed as the author -- was acting tongue-in-cheek, in order "to highlight the awfulness of certain rap lyrics."
Gaga was in Paris last week for her first concert in the country but was not at the late-night Mugler show -- she was performing in Zurich at the time.
For his new spring-summer collection, Formichetti sent out "chic and fearless" women, their adventurer's wardrobe inspired by the humid rainforests of Asia or Latin America.
Ultra-short dresses, in ochre or burnt sienna, paired built-up shoulders with elaborate pleats on the skirt, taking turns with second skin black pants worn above towering reptile sandals.
