Halloween 2012: Lady Gaga Costume Ideas!

Happy Friday, y'all! If you're a big do-it-yourself-er and are in the market for a heavy-liftingHalloween costume you can get cracking on NOW, might we suggest going this year asLady Gaga? Mother Monster is not only well-versed in the world of high fashion (who else would the House Versace trust to bring "THAT dress" back??), she's also a couture connoisseur, dreaming up more daily one-off ensembles than there are days in a year.
Lady Gaga is the kind of pop star Halloween was made for, and we at MTV Style are obviously subscribers to her every move, making us the perfect fit to unpack her iconic looks for your All Hallows evening. Put your paws up, roll up your sleeves, and be prepared to get a little dirty. Your Mother Monster Halloween hack starts now!
1. MEAT DRESS REPRISE

Gaga made The Meat Dress a household name back at the 2010 Video Music Awards, which may make you think it's played. BUT Gagaloo brought the beef frock back this year for her current Born This Way Ball tour and in an updated (also, WAY easier to replicate) strapless version with a bullett belt! Get a similar look yourself by nabbing up a strapless cotton/jersey dress with a bit of a flared skirt. Print close-up photos of raw meat onto a TON of sheets of iron-on transfer paper. Follow the directions on the packaging and adhere the sheets to the dress - the paper will also make the flouncy skirt a little more rigid like Gaga's. Slip on a bullet belt at the waist of the dress, a pair of fishnet heels, and you're ready to go!
+ Dress: Cotton Spandex Jersey High-Waist Skirt ($34.00)
+ Belt: Bullet Belt ($5.99)
+ Iron-On Transfer Paper: Epson Iron-On Cool Peel Transfer Paper ($14.62)
2. COMME DES HATERS DOWN

Remember when everyone was ragging on Lady Gaga's weight? And then she wore that EPIC oversized Comme Des Garçons coat the VERY next day as what WE thought was a kind of sartorial "HI HATERZ" move? Well, we're pretty sure that would make an awesome Halloween costume. Just pick up a few yards of blue and hot pink felt, either online or your nearest fabric store, cut it out in the same globular pattern as the high fashion original, and get to no-sew tape BIZNASS. When you're done, just step into a pair of blue lace-up booties, pull on those steampunk glasses and werque, honey!
+ Pink Felt: Bright Pink Felt Fabric ($5.90)
+ Blue Felt: Royal Blue Felt Fabric ($5.90)
+ Glasses: Steampunk Silver/Red Forgeman Glasses ($8.99)
+ No-Sew Tape: Heat n Bond Ultra Hold Iron-on Adhesive ($3.29)
+ Shoes: Blue Lace-Up Platform Booties ($34.80)
3. MAN-COVERED FAME MONSTER

This is one of our favorite would-be Halloween costumes yet, and we miiiiight even be attempting to get this together over the weekend. Gaga's tiny man-covered nude form is an image that has been etched into our minds since the Fame campaign image debuted in July of this year. Recreate the shocking ad with a nude bodysuit, dozens of army men you will spray paint black and fasten or glue to the aforementioned bodysuit. Finish the look off with a shiny black masquerade mask and some of Gaga's signature gravity-defying platform heels. Carrying around your own bottle of Gaga's BLACK LIQUID perfume is probably also a good idea.
